The Pathways, Looking Back

By elaineb | October 20, 2008

OK, we finished the Pathways sermon series and Journey Group series a couple of weeks ago. How did it go? What worked well with your group and what didn’t? What new thing did you try and how did it go? When the Pathways sermon series rolls around next year, what would you like to do in your Journey Groups to reinforce it?

From a Leading the Discussion point of view: I’d like to have more new people. When you have folks new to the Pathways series it sparks more conversation among those of us repeating it.

That might be part of the reason for the emphasis on judging your growth? But since I don’t lead well that way – I’d rather be explaining it to new people and then discussing growth as a part of that. [Note: I don’t think I lead at all this year and only participated in maybe one week – being gone and all.]

Our experience was basically nil. Between the flu and people traveling, we didn’t get to do the study as a group. Sigh…

The one thing I did note, people who did the study didn’t see a relevance to repeating it again this year. It may be that we can “sell” it differently in worship services next time.
